Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts are dangerous. They can take control of your day and feed on your insecurities and doubts. Throughout the day, and on especially stressful ones, our thoughts are flowing constantly.

Picture a flowing stream of water in the woods. Occasionally, leaves and sticks will fall into the flow. Sometimes there are too many and this can impact that nice flowing stream of water. Our negative thoughts are like these leaves. We all have negative thoughts throughout the day. A worry about a deadline, or a mistake on a paper. These thoughts can get stuck in our head and drain us throughout the day. Instead of letting them flow into the stream of water and pass, they get stuck.

Remember that you have the strength to let go of these negative thoughts. If your worries are getting the better of you, take a minute to clear your head and let them pass. Be kind to yourself. Remember to breathe. Release your tension.
